Sunday 12 July · Camden → Kentish Town

Market, Skate & Sunny Day Real Estate

A loose, alive neighborhood day that builds to the show. Slow start, canal arrival, Camden crate-digging, a skate stop for Fleetwood, a real reset, then the anchor: SDRE at the O2 Forum.

9:30 – 10:15 · Slow start

Breakfast near the flat

Jennifer’s call, and she’s right: do not start early. Stamina is for 11pm, not 8am. Coffee and breakfast in Marylebone, then head out around 10:00.

SolArrive by water, not by tube. Walk 15 minutes (or one Bakerloo stop to Warwick Avenue) to Little Venice and take the London Waterbus up Regent’s Canal — 45 minutes past Regent’s Park and the London Zoo aviary, docking inside Camden Lock. Gliding into Camden by narrowboat beats emerging from the tube crush, and it folds Jennifer’s optional canal wander into the day for free. Book online tonight — it sells out Sundays; aim for the ~10:00 departure.
10:45 – 1:00 · Camden

Camden Market & the Lock

Food stalls, vintage tees and leather, punk and goth fashion, music merch, street-art photo stops — the full “teenage London” hit, exactly as Jennifer scoped it.

SolStart 30 minutes earlier than planned. Sunday is Camden’s busiest day of the week — by 12:30 the bridges are shoulder-to-shoulder. Arriving 10:45 gets you ninety calm minutes before the crush.
SolTwo crate-digs for the DJ, both a 3-minute walk from the market: Out on the Floor Records (10 Inverness St — soul, funk, reggae, proper dig) and Sounds That Swing (88 Parkway). Sunday hours are typically 11–6 but verify on the door — if one’s shut, the market’s vinyl stalls cover the gap.

1:00 – 2:00 · Lunch

Eat in the market, everyone picks their own

No reservation, no debate — the stalls at Camden Lock and Stables Market let all three of you eat different things at the same table. Keep it loose; the day should feel alive, not scheduled.

2:00 – 3:30 · Skate stop

Cantelowes Gardens Skatepark

The right geographic call — a real concrete park with a proper bowl, 20 minutes’ walk (or one stop on the 253 bus) east of Camden, without dragging anyone across London. Fleetwood skates or scopes the scene; parents get a bench and sun.

SolRain pivot: if it’s wet, the bowl is unusable — swap this block for the covered Stables Market halls and a longer record dig, and give Fleetwood the skate session another day.

3:30 – 5:00 · The buffer

Rest / reset — protect this block

Jennifer’s smartest move. Café break, or tube back to the flat for a real sit-down. Do not keep walking “just to see one more street.” You’re banking energy for a standing show that ends at 11.

SolBonus while you rest: the Wimbledon men’s final is on mid-afternoon — any pub or café screen makes the buffer feel like an event instead of a wait.
5:00 – 6:30 · Early dinner

Kentish Town, 5 minutes from the venue

Jennifer said “simple and nearby” — here are the two named answers, directly opposite each other on Kentish Town Road:

  • E. Mono (287 Kentish Town Rd) — the famous cheap-and-perfect Turkish kebab shop; open Sundays to 11:30pm. The pre-gig meal of champions for about £10 a head.
  • The Assembly House (292–294 Kentish Town Rd) — grand Victorian pub, proper sit-down and a pre-show pint; open Sundays to 10:30pm.
SolThe Luxury-Hack Flip, solved: kebabs at E. Mono, then one round at the Assembly House’s etched-glass bar. Both, for less than one central-London dinner.

7:00pm doors · 11pm curfew · The anchor

Sunny Day Real Estate — O2 Forum Kentish Town

9–17 Highgate Road. They’re headlining, so this is the real SDRE moment — a 2,300-cap art-deco theatre beats a stadium guest slot every time. Fleetwood at 17 is fine for entry (the Forum admits 14+).

SolTiming: support act likely ~7:45, SDRE on ~9:00. Doors-at-7 is for the barrier; arriving 7:30–8:00 still gets a good floor spot. Buy merch when you walk in — the table gets stripped and the queue after the encore is 20 minutes long.

11:00pm · Getting home

Kentish Town → Baker Street

Northern line from Kentish Town station to King’s Cross, change to the Circle/Hammersmith & City/Metropolitan for two stops to Baker Street — about 25 minutes door to door.

SolSunday last trains run earlier (~11:30 from Kentish Town), so head to the station straight after the encore rather than lingering. Backup: an Uber or black cab home is ~£15–20 and 15 minutes — a fine price for not sprinting.

Before you sleep tonight

First, confirm the SDRE tickets are actually bought. The trip checklist still shows this open. Headline show, Sunday night, 2,300-cap room — if it’s not done, do it before anything else on this page.
Then book the Waterbus for the ~10:00am Little Venice departure at londonwaterbus.com — online booking is required and Sunday mornings sell through.
At breakfast, check the forecast. Sun: run the day as written. Rain: boat still runs (it’s covered), skatepark swaps for covered markets, everything else holds.
